Breathing Out

There are times in my life that I think I just want to die. Now is one of them. But then whenever I think about that, it makes me think that I’m selfish. Selfish because I’ll be leaving two beautiful bebes de vampire behind, motherless.

So anyway, I shouldn’t think I want to die right now, but man, it hurts. I’m confused. Is it because of my pride? Is it because I’m afraid? Is it because I want my les bebes de vampire to have a good life? Or is it because I am still capable of loving as much as I did before? Truth is I don’t know. Maybe it’s none of the above or all of the above.

Every person has a breaking point. It is when they say that enough is enough. When will I ever hear those words coming from my very own mouth? I used to believe that I’m a strong person. That no one will ever be able to hurt me. I was strong... until I chose to give it my all. Well, almost my all.

Up until now, I couldn’t quite fathom why it has come to this. I’m always about to break because the pain is too much for me to bear, but I have also always refused to give in. I have to protect les bebes de vampire. If I give in now, who will be there for them?! It’s like I’m stuck in this situation forever. Don’t act stupid because you’re not, they always say. Maybe I’m not. I guess I’m just taking my time in figuring out what needs to be done, because it is a very delicate situation. Or maybe I am. It’s taking me a lot of time because I can’t figure it out. Or again, maybe I’m not. I’m just a fool. A very hard-headed fool! I have always known what to do but I refuse to take the necessary steps. They told me to let go, but when I look at my les bebes de vampire, it feels like all my strength goes down the drain. Why is it so hard to make a decision and think of yourself for a change when you look into those two pairs of beautifully innocent eyes?

Maybe this is only a part of a really bad dream, a nightmare. In an instant I’ll wake up and cry about this nightmare on his shoulders. Or maybe, I’m not cut out to be with him for the rest of my life.

I want my heart to stop feeling what it has been feeling for the past years. Or maybe I don’t. God help me.

Your Greatest Blessing

Michelangelo had a persecutor who was very jealous of him.

(I don’t mean the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but the real Michelangelo.)

The persecutor’s name was Bramante, a famous architect during that time.

By the way, do you know Bramante? I’m positive 99% of you never heard of him. Do you notice how persecutors fade away in the dust, but the one they persecute become legends? An important lesson to remember!

When Pope Julius thought of making a tomb, he asked Michelangelo to do it.

But when Bramante heard of it—and thought of the acclaim that Michelangelo would receive from it—he discouraged the Pope from continuing with the project. True enough, after Michelangelo searched far and wide for the perfect marble for the project—which took 8 long months—he learned that the Pope had abandoned the project. Michelangelo was very disappointed.

One day, the Pope thought of another project.

Upon hearing about it, Bramante concluded that it would be a time-consuming project and would receive very little public acclaim. So he told the Pope to give it to Michelangelo. In his mind, it would keep the artist busy for years—and accomplish nothing of great value.

Besides, it was also a painting job, and Bramante knew that Michelangelo was not even a painter, but a sculptor.

Michelangelo saw the trap. He knew it was a ploy by his enemy to destroy him. At first, he declined. But the Pope insisted, and not wanting to deny his Holiness, he agreed.

The project was indeed time-consuming. It took Michelangelo 4 years to finish, and he almost lost his eyesight because of it…

I’m sure you know the project by now: The Sistine Chapel. The grandest masterpiece of Michelangelo. More than anything, it made him one of the greatest painters of all time.

What was meant to curse him turned out to be his greatest blessing.

Good Friday was supposed to be the greatest curse.

Yet it also turned out to be the greatest blessing.

No Matter What Trials Come,

Keep Doing The Good You’re Supposed To Do

I reflect on this story and look at my own life.

I’ve been serving God for that past 27 years, and I do get my share of little “Bramante’s” scattered here and there.

But without them, I would have missed my greatest blessings: spiritual growth, opportunities to serve, and the impact I have on people’s lives.

My biggest Bramante’s were the two men who molested me as a child.

Because of these indescribable painful experiences, I’ve been able to heal so many people who have the same inner wounds. (You can read more about this in two of my books, Your Past Does Not Define Your Future, and 7 Secrets To Real Freedom.)

I could also think of my other trials in life…

Oh, why do bad things happen to good people?

Here’s my great theological answer: I don’t know.

But this I know. No matter what trials come, I’ll do the good that I’m supposed to do.

And at the end of the day, I will win.

Friend, remain faithful to God in good times and in bad times.

And you’ll see how all things work for good to those who love Him.

And you’ll see how your Good Friday will turn to Easter Sunday.

Don’t ever give up!

Now that I have my own life and own family, I started missing the people and the things I used to do at home. Someone once told me that I couldn't choose him over my family. I said I didn't have to choose. Both are important to me. I guess he was hurt. Truth is, I was hurt too. I was appalled that he still thought that way, knowing that he already had me beside him. I don't regret choosing to have my own life and family, but, there are times, especially when I'm alone, that I miss the home I grew up in so much.

There was once a vampire who didn't think she needed love. She thought that it was just a waste of time. That was before she met The Count. It's the last day of work for this week. Is this supposed to make me feel relieved? It should, that is if only I could make my mind stop thinking for a while. I'm getting used to working and studying all the time. Thinking that I have time to kill over the weekend makes me feel sick. So does that make me a workaholic now? What should I do to make me stop thinking of the things that I should stop thinking about over the weekend, when I'm not going to do anything? Play all day with my kids? Nice. Oh, how time just passes us by. Another week is nearing to an end. There are times that I lose track of the days. As every second, minute and hours pass, I am getting buried with work further and further. If the things I have to do were pieces of paper and piled on an office table, you probably won't see me on the other side. But as of the moment, what's tearing me apart is watching the Harry Potter movie or heading on home. You see, I don't have the luxury of going out too much. It's not that I can't, I just choose not too. I feel like spending too many hours here in the office is enough for me to miss my les bebes de vampire, so i'll probably just head on home. "Probably", i remember this line being used a number of times in the Pursuit Of Happyness. I like that movie. It made me realize a number of things that I should be happy about. Sometimes, I just wish that I had some "lazy days" spent with my family. Lazy days... yeah, I'd love to do that again sometime. When we would just sit in the sofa, watch a movie, then eat, then sleep, that is a perfect lazy day!

I was wondering...
What if I hadn't met you?
What if I didn't get the chance to have you?
Would I be happy or would I be sad?
Would I be with someone else or not?
Would my life ever be the same?
Would I ever be the same?
So many questions will be left unanswered...
All these will be left unsure...
But now I am happy...
I am happy that I met you...
I am much more happy now that I have you,
than having to answer it all...

This was a short poem that I wrote ages ago for the love of my life, when I was ecstatic. Oh love... It makes you do things that you never thought you were capable of doing. Anyway, my big black notebook reminded me that I had a little poem tucked away in one of its pages. Reading it all over again has left me remembering the moments of bliss.

Innocence Is Bliss

When we were born in this world, we didn't know anybody and anything else. We knew only those who took care of us. We were easily amazed with how the leaves move when they are blown by the wind. We were so amazed with the drops of water that falls from the sky from time to time. It was called rain. Hmmmm, rain, a new word. We used to think that they were tears of crying angels. When we first uttered a word, it was something huge. When we first walked the earth, we felt so proud. Our parents made us look at it as a great achievement. I wonder why firsts are always so memorable, and when we do it again, it is not as big as the first one. Our first day at school, our first kiss, our first real love. It was all beautiful.

It feels good to be happy. What's good about being a child is you see things differently. You see beauty in a rather dreadful world. It's like seeing a toy out of an rusty, empty tin can. We felt happy even if we saw things that we didn't know were bad. Innocence. It's the joy of being a kid. Hakuna Matata.

There are times in my life that I want to turn back time and go back to my childhood. I remember, when I was younger, I wanted to grow up so fast so that I can do what I want to do, without my papa and my mama's consent. But now it's as if I regret that I wanted that. When I see children and when I see their childhood, I feel like going back to mine. It was a time when I need not worry about grown up things, a time that I need not worry at all. As a child, I dreamt big. It made me happy, dreaming made me happy. But as I grew up, I learned a lot of things and in the process, I met a lot of people, some of them have become close friends, even.

The Essence of Being Human

I'm reading a book. It's called Living, Loving and Learning by Leo Buscaglia, Ph.D. This book is too optimistic for me, albeit, there is something in the book that keeps me flipping its pages. I've read only a few pages, but I feel that I have learned a lot. The power of words is really amazing. It can either make or break you. It is for this reason that I think before I utter a word. But anyway, there are still times that you have to say words that can hurt people because you have to, but you have to make sure that what you are saying is true.

It is a fact that in order for man to learn, he has to feel pain several times. Sometimes, the pain is nothing, and sometimes, he feels a pain so great, that he just wants everything to stop. It is entirely up to him if he will get out of it, no matter how big the pain he feels, or if he will just bury himself and feel the pain until he dies. It will be his choice if he will be strong or will be weak.

There are a lot of different ways of coping with pain. Either ways, you will need the help of another, a greater power at times. What makes a man human is the pain that he has to feel throughout his life. But what makes a human a person is the love and the care that he feels deep within him and the love and the care that he has to share.

A Welcome Note For Myself

I didn't want to change my very first blog so I decided to add another blog instead. I admired this template so why not use it. Fire has always fascinated me and I love the color red, a perfect combination. I'd like to think I'm fiery, so I guess it applies. I love to talk, but when I talk, it is only my mind that speaks. When I write, my mind and my heart join forces. Writing was never my passion, or so I thought, but I've always kept a journal. I call it my big black notebook, because it HAD a black cover and it is big. My big black notebook is the only witness to what my heart really speaks, so its like my companion through thick and thin. When I get so happy, so brilliant, so lonely, so frustrated, so weary, so furious, I pour it all out to my trusted companion. It is my therapy, writing, I mean. I still have my big black notebook with me, minus the black cover. I have never shared it with anybody else, until now, though I was left with no choice when they decided to prowl over the pages without my knowledge. I used to get so angry when I find out that somebody has gone through its pages. There were three people who have seen what's written on it, and these three people I had to forgive, because they are the three most important people in my life. What is left of my big black notebook are a few pages, some torn. I am not giving my companion up, and neither am I giving my first blog up(I have an active blog before this, so technically, this is my second blog) It's just that I feel that I need another blog with a different feel to it. I feel that this will be my serious side... hopefully...
